Field Tour 

Monday, June 23, 2025

Conference Day 1

Local Tour of the Okanagan

8:30 – 16:30 | Bus leaves from UBC Okanagan

The local tour will include visits to a local fruit packing house and a BC living labs vineyard research site followed by a bag lunch at a local winery and an open house research forum at the AAFC Summerland Research and Development Centre.

Tickets ($100 per person) are not included in the general registration fee and must be purchased separately. You may also purchase a tour ticket for your accompanying guest.

There are a limited number of tickets available for the pre-conference tour. They will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Setup & Registration

15:00 – 17:30 | EME Mezzanine at UBC Okanagan

The registration desk will open at 3 PM. Guests are invited to register/sign-in. Poster presenters and exhibitors are welcome to set up.

Welcome Reception & Mixer

17:00 – 19:30 | Library Sunroom at UBC Okanagan

The welcome reception and mixer will be an occasion to meet and mingle with conference guests and organizers from across Canada and abroad. Small bites will be provided. Drinks will be available for purchase. Dinner will be on your own.

Conference Day 2

Registration

8:00 | EME Mezzanine at UBC Okanagan

The registration desk will open at 8 AM. Guests are invited to register/sign-in. Poster presenters and exhibitors are welcome to set up if they have not done so already.

Scientific Sessions

8:30 – 18:00 | EME Building at UBC Okanagan Campus

Plenary sessions with keynote speakers will be held in the morning, followed by breakout concurrent sessions. Session topics include: Breeding & Genetics, Crop Production, Soil Health, G x E x M, Digital Agriculture, System Resilience, Organic Agriculture, Protected Agriculture, Ag Extensions & Networking. Topics may be updates as needed. Lunch will be served on-site in the Library Sunroom. In the afternoon there will be more concurrent sessions, a general poster session. Refreshments will be served during morning and afternoon breaks giving delegates an opportunity to browse sponsor booths. Dinner will be on your own.

After Hours Student Social

18:00 – 20:00 | Location TBD

A student-only event will be held Tuesday evening. Details to come!

Registration

Gala Dinner

18:30 – 22:00  | El Dorado Hotel

A Gala Dinner will be hosted for conference delegates. Student poster and oral presentation awards will be announced, along with annual society awards from CSHS and CSA. The cost of the banquet is included in the registration fee for full conference attendees. Additional tickets ($125 per person) may be purchased for day-attendees and accompanying guests. Transport to and from UBC-Okanagan will be provided.

Conference Day 4

Registration

8:00 | EME Mezzanine at UBC Okanagan

The registration desk will open at 8 AM. Guests are invited to register/sign-in.

Science & Extensions Sessions

8:30 – 12:00 | EME Building at UBC Okanagan Campus

Plenary sessions including a panel discussion with the Keynote Speakers will be held in the morning, followed by workshop discussions. The topics of the workshops are Living Laboratories and Ag Extension Networking. Special guests from the local agricultural community will be invited to join the events. Refreshments will be served during the morning break. Poster presenters and sponsors are requested to dismantle their presentations by 1 PM. Lunch will be on your own.
